The company was established as Godo Shigen Co., Ltd., in 1965 and remains in operation to date after the merger of Aioi Industry Co., Ltd., which was founded in 1934 and ran the natural gas and iodine businesses and Isobe Kogyo Co ., Ltd., which was founded in 1948 and ran the metal mining as the core business.
